We are a provider of First Aid Training services in Ireland. With over 20 years of First Aid Responder and Occupational First Aid experience, through our affiliation with UFAS, we deliver PHECC accredited FAR and CFR First Aid Training to Individuals, Companies, Schools, TY groups and Corporations. All our Instructors are PHECC accredited and Insured. We can also offer blended learning with our FAR course - 50% online - 50% face to face, for corporate clients or organised groups. We have flexible options available, being able to offer courses at suitable premises or in the comfort of our venue.

Instruction will be given in a relaxed environment, concentrating on encouragement with a view to a positive outcome. All candidates will be given extensive attention to technique by the Instructor and help will always be given at IFAT, to candidates who ask for it.

Chain of Survival

In the PHECC (Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Council) chain of survival, patient outcomes improve with Early Access, Early CPR, Early Defibrillation and Early After care.

FAR-First Aid Responder

The PHECC First Aid Response Course, also known as the FAR Course, is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and care for individuals with life-threatening injuries until professional healthcare practitioners arrive. It is suitable for a wide range of individuals, including those who require basic first aid training for their job, such as non-healthcare personnel, sports coaches, teachers, and parents.

This is a 3 day course

To maintain your qualification beyond the initial two-year certification period, you will need to undertake a refresher course.

CFR-Cardiac First Responder

The PHECC CFR Course provides comprehensive training on handling cardiac and respiratory emergencies. It equips participants with skills to utilise an AED effectively and appropriatly.

The course places emphasis on practical skills and active involvement of the students. It is instructor-led and incorporates video-based learning, teaching adult CPR, AED use, and techniques for relieving choking in adults.

The curriculum utilises the Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, backed by the American Heart Association.

By the end of the course, participants will have completed multiple cycles of CPR using a defibrillator, encountered real-life situations and learned skills and confidence to competently react to an emergency.

The duration of this course is 1 day

FAR and CFR Refresher Courses

The refresher courses consists of a two-day training for FAR recertification and a 4 hour course for CFR recertification.

These courses are designed to update and reinforce the knowledge and skills acquired during the initial training.

It is mandatory to undergo recertification within two years of original certification, in order to keep your qualification valid.

A valid FAR or CFR certificate is a prerequisite for participating in the FAR and CFR refresher course respectively.
